Global Education is real. It is an essential part of a 21st. century education that must be embodied, nurtured, and expanded. As our students enter the globalized world in which we live, will they have the global skills needed to be competitive? This website will help you explore the meaning of global education, its critical need in today's society, the many faces of what it looks like, and how to employ the ethos of global education in your everyday teaching and curriculum.

An Introduction to the site:

Greetings Global Educator,

This site is a basic global education resource guide designed to help educators and administrators globalize their teaching, curriculum, and leadership. It is only a small piece of a greater wealth of global education resources, tools, and information that is available to educators. This site can serve as a starting off point in your journey toward global education.  Within this site, you will find global education resources, local and international global organization contacts, digital learning resources, sample globalized unit/lesson plans, global education standards, assessment tools, my travel blog from Brazil, and much more.

This capstone project is the result of my participation in the 2014-15 Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program (TGC). TGC is a year-long professional development fellowship for United States elementary, middle and high school teachers to become leaders in global education. TGC is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by IREX.

I hope that you find some inspiration and resources to help effect global change in your classroom, school, district, and state. If you have any thoughts, ideas, or questions. Please feel free to contact me!

Enjoy Globally,

Peter T. Schmidt, M.Ed.
Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellow
